Yoga before Your Knee Surgery (Level 1 & 2)


Yoga before Your Knee Surgery has 2 videos total. Each level helps build strength, flexibility, and balance with adapted yoga poses.

LEVEL 1- Seated Poses and Hip Opening on the ground with strap, chair, and block

Learn techniques to improve your hip flexibility to prepare you for your knee replacement. This 20-minute video is the first in a series of 2 videos which provides instructions for preoperative exercises using yoga techniques for your total knee surgery. You will start seated in the chair, then move to the ground for hip opening with a strap, chair, and block.

You will be asked to move from the standing to the floor. If this a concern for you, consider using a bed to sit & lie on.

Equipment needed: *Solid surface to lie on *Block (substitute with a thick book) *Chair *Strap (substitute with a bathrobe strap)

LEVEL 2: Standing Poses with chair, Hip opening lying and sitting on the ground.

Learn techniques to improve mobility in your hip muscles to prepare for your knee replacement surgery. This 25-minute video is the second in a series of 2 videos which provides instructions for preoperative exercises using yoga techniques for your total knee surgery.

You will be asked to move from the standing to the floor. If this a concern for you, consider using a bed to sit & lie on.

Equipment needed: *Solid surface to lie on *Block (substitute with a thick book) *Chair *Strap (substitute with a bathrobe strap)
